LUBLIN JAZZ FESTIVAL 2019

The 11th edition of Lublin Jazz Festival took place at the 23rd-28th April.

Concerts called “Jazz in the city” begun this year’s edition of jazz fest in Lublin. On the stage in the cameral places we saw Skerebotte Fatta, Zbigniew Chojnacki and TRIO_IO.

On Friday in the Cultural Centre in Lublin you could admire jazz sounds by Jerry & The Pelican System at first, then – British Portico Quartet and at the end – so energetic tracks in performance by Malox.

On Saturday you could see „Komeda Komeda” film projection, hear the preview-premiere of the Polish Jazz Requiem, Enrico Rava Quartet and Gnigler Sextett.

At first – Marcin Oleś and his project Polish Jazz Requiem tribute to Krzysztof Komeda and Tomasz Stańko turned the audience to the world full of harmony and melancholy.

Next on the stage appeared Enrico Rava with his 3 jazzmen and they showed a jazz version of classic and modern tracks. No one should be surprised that the Quartet played a double encore!

At the end of the Saturday’s evening on the stage performed Gnigler Sextett which presented improvisational jazz at their best.

The last day of the Lublin Jazz Festival started of the SACRUM / PROFANUM project by Adam Bałdych Quartet. Absolute freedom of music expression and sacral music with combined with a modern musical vision is something that everyone definitely should listen to! On Sunday evening everyone gathered in the Cultural Centre in Lublin saw and heard the best world-class music virtuosity on a violin. After each song the audience rewarded the musicians with the words of delight and the concert ending in standing ovations and double encore!

The 11th edition of the Lublin Jazz Festival ended with a trio Mammal Hands’ concert. These three musicians in their own way combine elements of jazz, folk, electronic and classical music in their songs. They was so appreciated by the audience with big applause and words of delight. Of course, trio played as an encore.

Next edition of Lublin Jazz Festival has gone down to the history. Behind us was 6 evenings filled with jazz sounds and that was great experience! We can’t wait for the next year!
