Apparently there is not much … granite obelisk, a monument consisting of eleven 30-meter masts, an amphitheater located on the premises Museum of the Battle … and several hectares of wasteland converted into meadows … but this is a place for every Pole who arrives at first time here will embrace in the throat .. and so it remains. This inconspicuous place every year draws thousands of people who want a few days to go back in time. In the second week of July near the museum created knight encampment – full of knights trainees before battle and ladies strolling around the stalls. In the evenings settlement beckons tourists clanking armor, light beating of crackling bonfires and singing carrying across the fields … There are jugglers, illuminating the night fireballs, knights becoming the reins during fights, a traveling theater troupe entertaining children. For a week Grunwald fields are teeming with life. The culmination of those idyllic days is the staging of the Battle of Grunwald hedged annually by the medical and scouts.
Do you know that:
In 2000, during the staging of the battle Knight, who plays the role of Wladyslaw Jagiello he fell from his horse. As a result of the collapse suffered a neck injury and was taken to the hospital. This is the only case in which we can talk about the lost battle of Grunwald. Apparently the knight that was so foam that barely kept in the saddle … Well, somebody’s not spilling the collar 🙂
