Lidzbark Warmiński is located in the north-western part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. It lies in historical Warmia, in the fork of the Łyna and its tributaries Symsarna and at the meeting point of three mesoregions: Sępopolska Lowland, Olsztyn Lake District and Górowskie Hills.
Attractions:
Castle of Warmian Bishops.
Collegiate Church Peter and Paul.
Three gates – Dobromiejska, Młyńska and Wysoka.
Do you know that..:
Once, when Krasicki picked up Jan Ursyn Niemcewicz at the castle, he noticed that a very ugly maidservant served them and joked: “Whoever sins with the ugly sins twice, because he also offends God and makes people laugh”. The bishop, of course, did not remain indebted and said: “He who sins with an ugly soul, saves his soul, because he sinners at the same time while he is sinning.”
