The Regional Museum in Jasło gathers numerous exhibits related to the tradition, culture and folk art from the Jasielski Region as well as archaeological and historical collections. Currently, the collection has over 20,000. exhibits. Among the permanent exhibitions in the ethnographic section you can see, among others folk costumes Pogorza and Lemko, sculptures, figurines from roadside shrines, folk clocks and traditional handicrafts. The most interesting elements of folk costumes include Pogoń’s female corsets decorated with sequins and colorful embroidery and garments decorated with white, openwork embroidery with floral motifs, and traditional costumes among men’s costumes “Kulnianki” from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The museum also has traditional Christmas cribs, elements of carol singers’ costumes and Easter eggs decorated with various techniques. The historical exhibition collects examples of oil painting from the 17th and 18th centuries, sculptures, graphics, handicrafts – products from Meissen porcelain, silver, glass and clocks. Particularly noteworthy are the Gothic sculptures, two of them (St. Jadwiga of Silesia and St. Margaret) from around 1390 and three from the 16th century. The museum also has more than a dozen baroque sculptures from the eighteenth century. In the collection of paintings there are several icons, including seven Uniate church icons dated to the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. In the museum you can admire the collections of militaria – white, firearms, weapons, numismatic exhibition, as well as falerist collections containing medals and decorations. In addition, the museum has paleontological collections, collections of old prints and archives.
