Osiedle Nikiszowiec The name of the estate comes from the nearby “Nikischschacht” shaft, which takes its name from the founder of Georg von Giesches Erben – baron Nickisch von Rosenegk. Spatial settlement of the Nikiszowiec workers’ settlement from 1908-1918 Monument of Technickipniki in honor of the heroes of the Silesian uprisings. Tidings: In 2006, a documentary and feature series “Nadzieja umiera ostatnia” was created in Nikiszowiec. Directed by Radosław Dunaszewski, the documentary tells the story of the 10 largest mining disasters.
