Literary Festival Sopot 2021
Date(s) - 08/17/2023 - 08/20/2023
All-day event
Literary Sopot will once again visit the Polish seaside!
This year Literary Sopot, like many other events, decided to use a hybrid format. The 10th edition of the festival will take place offline in Sopot and online at www.literackisopot.pl on 19-22 August 2021.
This year‘s festival features new venues: the Villa on Goyki3 and the Church of the Saviour. Participants can listen to a concert by Natalia Moskal, take part in a literary quiz, or read “The Divine Comedy” on the streets of Sopot. Literary Sopot 2021 will also celebrate the 80th birthday of Krzysztof Kieślowski and 100th birthday of Stanisław Lem.
As we read on the Organizer‘s website: “During the journey through the streets of Sopot you will be able to walk through the various circles of Hell, Purgatory and Heaven. “The Divine Comedy” by Dante Alighieri (translated by Edward Porębowicz) will be directed by Radek Stępień, and next to professional actors, fragments will be read, among others, by Sopot residents.
Another initiative that distinguishes Literacki Sopot from other festivals is #FreeReading Hour. It‘s nothing more than a specially set aside hour to sit and read in peace. Although the idea seems mundane, in a constantly running forward world of hustle and bustle such moments are priceless.
Those hungry for new literary acquisitions will certainly enjoy the Book Fair accompanying the event.
Undoubtedly, stars of literature will visit Sopot. As a result, it will be possible to meet Antonio Talia, Helena Janeczek, Marco Filoni, Micol Roubini, Annalisa Camilli and Polish authors and writers.
