1914 Play in Krakow
Are you curious about the sound of strong death and doom metal cultivated just beyond Poland’s eastern border? Regardless of the answer, we still invite you to unique concerts by the band 1914, who will also appear alongside the Danish Katla. In February and March, the stages in Warsaw’s Hydrozagadka and Krakow’s Hype Park will explode!
1914 have one goal – to present the atrocities of World War I to people as convincingly as possible. They exploit this topic to the core – in their image and lyrics. They also do not spare themselves musically, carrying death/doom giants cut with a bit of black metal.
Katla is all about strong blows. They focus on the dirt, chaos and disgust of the darkest doom/stoner/sludge corners, embellishing them with the filth of black metal.
1914 (Ukraine) Blackened Death/Doom Metal
Powerful, epic shots from the intersection of death and doom metal are 1914’s specialty. Add black metal sulfur to them – essential in their compositions – and you have a recipe for great songs. The Ukrainian lineup has plenty of them. Extreme metal as you see it.
KATLA (Denmark) Stoner Metal, Sludge Metal, Doom Metal
In the case of Katla, nothing pretty was included – there was supposed to be a biting riff in the tradition somewhere between doom, stoner and sludge metal with echoes of black metal.
