Copernicon 2024 – Enter the Multiverse of Science, Pop Culture and Fantasy
Copernicon in Toruń is the largest festival in this part of Poland with a fantasy and science theme. For more than 10 years, it has enjoyed incredible acclaim from people from all corners of Poland and the world.
It combines various forms of activities: from meetings with authors, numerous contests, workshops, demonstrations, through board and video games.
It is an ideal opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of your favorite characters, talk about your interests and meet new and interesting authors. Since 2010, it has continually brought together a growing audience around it. In 2019, there were more than 3,800 participants at Toruń’s Old Town. As a result, it ranks high among the most beloved fantasy-themed festivals in Poland.

This year’s edition will be held September 20-22 under the theme “Enter the Multiverse”.
The festival is divided into several thematic blocks so that everyone can experience the full diversity of the event and find something for themselves: Board Games, Cosplay, Literary, Workshop, Animation, Film, Competition, Fandom, Pop Culture, Popular Science, RPG, Electronic Games, LARP (live action role-playing), Asian and Around the Festival attractions.
Guests
Every year, interesting figures from the world of culture are invited to Copernicon. This year one of the special guests will be Bartosz Sztybor – director of comic book narration and animation at CD PROJEKT RED, as well as author of scripts for comic books, series, films. He has written a number of comics in “The Witcher” and “Cyberpunk 2077” series, as well as produced and created the script for the anime “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.”
The event will also not take place without Renata Kuryłowicz, an author who specializes in the topic of necrophilia and cannibalism. Renata Kuryłowicz is a long-time book publisher and editor, author of the “true crime” blog and podcast “Zbrodnie bez cenzury.” She is the creator of Poland’s first burlesque house and the amazing cocktail concept that is Worek Kości in Warsaw, where she also organizes lectures on forensics and criminology.
Also appearing at the festival will be Tomasz Samojlik – being a PhD in biological sciences, he writes and draws books and comics, in which he tries to combine fantastic plots with a dose of natural science knowledge, thus translating specialized scientific knowledge into language understandable to younger audiences.
During the convention, a Gamesroom will be available 24 hours/day. During the day, but also at night, it will be possible to play board games or rent them.
The event is organized by the “Thorn” Association of Game and Fantasy Lovers.
