33. Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow
In 2024, a new thematic series of the JCF dedicated to Jewish identity and mysticism will begin. The most important prayer – Shema Israel, will start the journey.
JCF has been operating in Krakow since 1988. During this time, it has gained a group of loyal fans who come to Poland from abroad. JCF is the most recognizable cultural event in Krakow, among Poles and the international audience.
The event aims to show the diversity and beauty of Jewish culture. JCF includes workshops, lectures, discussions, sightseeing, and music events, among which the most famous is the concert “Shalom on Szeroka“. This is one of the most important outdoor concerts in Krakow, lasting several hours. It presents Jewish music from all over the world.
What awaits us at this year’s JCF?
In recent years, individual editions of the JCF were dedicated to nature’s elements. We showed you how earth, water, fire, and air function in the Jewish tradition: both symbolic and practical. With this year’s edition, we are starting a new thematic series. You will learn about various aspects and faces of Jewish spirituality and mysticism: from Kabbalah to Hasidism, from Safed to Borough Park, and from Rabbi Józef Karo to Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks.
We will start our journey through spirituality with the most important prayer – Shema Israel and the love that always accompanies this prayer. Like a few other times, now we need to listen, be listened to, love, and be loved. We invite you to Krakow’s Kazimierz from June 23 to 30.
More details coming soon.
