Wianki Music Festival – 2025
This great music festival falls on the summer solstice and is associated with the shortest night of the year. It takes place at the beginning of summer in a formula referring to Fête de la Musique – an event during which a variety of music resounds in many corners of the city. Kraków shows that music knows no boundaries, regardless of gender, race or worldview. Kupala Night is, according to Slavic tradition, the most important moment of the year – the moment of full bloom of nature and man.
Events related to Wianki – Music Festival are free and open to everyone.
Lots of attractions
Wianki Music Festival is full of attractions referring to Slavic traditions. As every year, participants will weave wreaths together. There will also be workshops and a competition for the most beautiful wreath. Additionally, many Krakow institutions have prepared a number of activities. But the main character of the program will be Wisła.
The summer solstice, known as Kupala Night, is a key moment of the year in Slavic tradition, when all of nature – and the humans who are part of it – fully bloom. Ancient rituals and customs were intended to provide participants with purification, fertility and happiness. Herbs, flowers, and water play an important role in this holiday. Continuing old traditions, we will meet at the largest Polish river to experience the shortest night of the year and celebrate the beginning of summer.
