30 Festival Pol'and'Rock - Going on...

Jurek Owsiak came up with the idea of a festival intended to be a tribute and gratefulness to the volunteers of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. It was 30 years ago. Then he certainly did not expect this event to become one of Poland’s most important events, not only musical.

Another breakthrough came a few years ago when  the event was titled “The Most Beautiful Festival in the World.” These were not empty promises.

Stage

What made this edition special? Someone could have said that the line-up was poor or controversial, but nobody definitely didn’t regret coming there. Over 40 bands and soloists performed at the festival. It is difficult to describe all the concerts, especially since tastes and preferences are an individual matter.

We will remember four of them. The Electric Callboy concert was an absolute hit at the festival. Musical perfection and positive power. Probably the only band that fully used the possibilities of the best stage lighting installations that are currently in Europe. There were fires, fireworks, great special effects and music with a capital M. We guess it was the best concert of this festival.

Friday began with a concert of ENEJ from Olsztyn. Before they hit the bass, the audience was already dancing. And the performance together with Majka Jeżowska of the song “A ja wolę moją mamę” will probably go down in the history of the festival.

A band from Tunisia – Myrath. Firstly their origin piqued our curiosity. It turned out that the African group not only breaks stereotypes about who plays metal but also how they can develop it.

Antyrefleks – they won the eliminations, played on the Small Stage, and were able to fill the ASP tent almost to the brim. There is positive energy in this group and the ease with which they can establish contact with the audience. It was difficult to catch the off-key vocals, and the uneven rhythm in the drums and bass, and the guitar knows what it’s all about. We keep our fingers crossed because the guys did a great job of rock.

Not Only Music

Of course, the festival tradition was meetings with people of culture, social activists, and lawyers, which took place in the ASP zone. Everyone could find something for themselves. The meetings for the youngest were very well organised.
Particular attention was drawn to the stand promoting the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, which was strongly involved in keeping Pol’and’Rock in Czaplinek.

Pol’and’Rock, although still an event for the Polish audience, has been drawing the attention of the media and fans from abroad for several years.

We had the opportunity to meet and talk to a few of them. They were sometimes random tourists, some came out of curiosity, others because someone talked them into it.
But there was usually only one response to impressions.: „this is amazing”, “something incerdible”, “first time i see something like that”.
